Review

We bought this system after wanting a 5.1 sound system for our living room, predominantly to use it with a PS3 (PlayStation 3). At £180 you get a great looking system with 2 tall speakers, a small centre, 2 small rears and a subwoofer. The system came with ample amount of wiring and was easy enough to assemble with all the wires colour coordinated. I bought an optical cable for sound quality and you would need an hdmi cable if you were to use the DVD player.
Sound is fantastic with action movies, PS3 games are made much more playable and listening to music is a simply tremendous, definitely worth the money!!

REVIEW

What a superb piece of kit for the money!

The build quality is excellent.
The screen is very responsive, smooth and crisp.
The battery life is excellent. 3-5 hours at least depending on what you are doing.
Wi-Fi detection and connection is flawless.
The processor does not struggle with anything I have thrown at it yet. Mine craft Lite and Dungeon Defenders Second Wave work effortlessly so I cannot see any other game or app taxing it.
Video playback is superb. Audio is also excellent although the rear facing speaker doesn’t really do the job very well at the high level of volume needed when watching video. It’s nothing a pair of headphones doesn’t solve.
The browser itself is very snappy and handles all web sites effortlessly. Flash content plays flawlessly, including BBC IPlayer and YouTube content.
Android Marketplace works perfectly. Kindle App works perfectly.
The front facing camera works fine although it’s not brilliant quality. I’ve no idea is Skype works or not and probably won’t ever try.
My 8gb Micro SD card was in and detected within seconds. Data transfer between the card and the device memory is easy. Transferring data from PC to the device is a breeze too by setting the device to USB storage mode when prompted.
I couldn’t ask for anything else.

For anyone buying this and trying to set the time zone to GMT and the Marketplace currency to GBP. Go to settings, Language and Keyboard and set to English (United Kingdom). The device will automatically adjust to GMT and Marketplace will be in GBP next time you load it up.

I was very torn between buying this device and waiting for the Kindle Fire to be released in April for £50 extra. Definitely made the right decision.

REVIEW

Have only had this TV for a few days but up till now have found it to be quite good. Some people say it can't be a very good TV for the price, must be cheap and nasty. As far as I have found in the few days I have used it, this is not the case. Reading the reviews before deciding to purchase I noticed that someone said the sound was 'very tinny'. I am wondering whether the location adversely affects the sound as I found it to be exactly the opposite. My TV is set back in an alcove and I found that I had to give it more treble as the sound was very heavy. I wasn't bothered about the reviews regarding the sound because I have a home cinema system which I was intending to connect to eventually but because of the settings in the TV I might not do this now. I have had the TV for a couple of months now and I am really pleased with it. Just a couple of minor niggles though. When the set is switched off the settings for the 3d and also the time go back to the default and need to be reset next time you switch on. Although this is not a problem it can be frustrating. Does anyone know if there is a way to save these settings and if so how? I cannot find any mention in the manual regarding this.

Received quickly, very easy to tune and set up. Wanted this for our touring caravan and I was bothered about the viewing angle. No problems at all. Superb picture and considering the small size of the tv the sound quality is very acceptable. DVDs are easy to load. The whole things fits comfortably into my laptop bag, which is perfect for travelling around without it getting damaged. I would highly recommend it to other caravanners. My only gripe is that the day after they despatched it to me the price was reduced by £15!! What a blow! I still feel that I had a good buy for the money though.

Review

I probably would have given this TV/DVD combo 4 stars if it wasn't for someone giving it one star, even though they A) Like the Tv, and B) think its a bargain. So, I gave it 5 stars to balance out the unfair 1 star.

First of all, a 22 inch is smaller than I thought it would be. Even though its in a small bedroom, I could have gotten away with a 26 inch tv, so if you have any doubts, buy the next size up. Other than that, the picture quality is fine, the sound quality is fine; it's kind of tinny with the speakers on the back but EQ tweaking can improve the overall sound to the point where it becomes acceptable and the volume is good. I have mine connected to a TIVO box through HDMI, so I can't relate to the other reviewer's problem with changing channels and the lack of info it provides, as it was pretty much a straight forward plug and play experience for me with the Tivo doing all the channel changing. The DVD player also does a good job, so no complaints there. The bottom line is, for how I use it, I can't really say anything too negative about this TV. The purchase price made it a good deal considering you not only get the TV, but a DVD player as well. Time will tell if the quality is there with buying a brand like Toshiba, but so far I'm pretty pleased with the purchase.

Review

I received the television within two days of ordering it and it came in perfect condition. Simple and easy to set up with crisp and sharp viewing.

I play DVD's on it all the time and have never had a problem with it, I think it is good value for money considering the brand of it. Yes the brand does make a difference as I went to certain stores and brands such as 'Goodman' and 'Logik' were not as sharp and the picture quality was alot darker.

I have a set of speakers which I put into the socket to make the sound better for me, however the sound is also fine and I was very satisfied. Definitely invest in one! Perfect for my bedroom.

Review 

Not sure about the negative review, sounds great with adjustable bass levels and differant sound presets, saying that an equiliser would have been nice. linked to sony bravia 40" via 1080p on hdmi and optical cable from tv.

I was initially disapointed with the picture quality as very grainy, i worked out the was over processing of the picture and turning the sharpness setting down on the blu-ray fixed that.

There is a built in fm radio, and two optical in ports on the back.

Picture quality on dvds is fantastic and upscales very well at 1080.

Media streaming is very good and a free copy of nero home media is supplied to help with transcoding on the fly of you home media.

The web services avalable are youtube, picassa, and acuweather. Picassa is especially impressive as it seems very fast with well aranged menus.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a surround settup then look elsewhere as this is really a replacement for your tv speakers with attitude. There is also no upgrade option to 5.1 sound so you are getting 2.1 sound

If you however want a great bluray player and want to see just how pathetic you tv speakers really are, and trust me there will be a gulf of quality ; then this is for you.
